Atiku's Daughter Forfeits Salary After Being Sworn-In As Adamawas State Health Commissioner



Fatima Atiku (Dr.), Newly appointed Adamawa state commissioner of Health and daughter of former Nigerian Vice president Atiku Abubakar has publicly forfeited her allowances and salary
in a bid to revitalize the state's health sector

According to her “I am very grateful to the governor for appointing me to head the health ministry,” she said. “The ministry is the most challenging because of the insurgency problem that had caused some damage to the health system in the state. “For this reason, I shall be donating my salary and allowances for use in enhancing the delivery of healthcare service in the state,’’ Fatima Atiku said.

Just As the nation's president affirmed his new appointments were on merit,


Gov. Bindow Jibrilla of Adamawa state also said the appointment of the commissioners were merit based and urge them to contribute their quota inorder to bring desired change in the state.

While administering the Oath of office The Governor further said “Your loyalty is to the people of Adamawa, whom you represent, and not to me.

Dr. Fatima was sworn in alongside other 21 commissioners in the state.

  1. Kudos Dr Fatima Abubakar. This is the kind of CHANGE needed for growth and development in Nigeria.
    Political appointments should be for service and not looting of our common wealth.
