Nigeria Police Invade National Assembly as Rep. Members Scale Parliament Gate

Earlier today 20/11/2014, Officers of the Nigerian Police invaded

the National Assembly with reasons of which

according to them was to restore peace and order.

In a statement by the  Ag. CP and Force Public

relations Officer, Emmanuel C.S Ojukwu, PSC, which  

reads " following an intelligence report on the invasion

of the house of Representative by hoodlums and

thugs, the Nigeria Police promptly deployed its

personel to prevent a breakdown of law and order"

According to them, while in the course of duty, the

arrival of the speaker of the house of Assembly, Alh.

Aminu Tambuwal CFR, who last month defected from

the ruling PDP to the opposition party and

accompanied by a crowd made up of thugs who

evaded due process and broke cordon warranted the

actions taken by the officers of the nations police force.

Issues

Further investigations on what would have prompted

the chaos and diorderliness at the headquarter of the

Nations Arm of Government, it was discovered

these was tied to the refusal of the opposition

member in the house to extend state of emergency in

the northeast region of Nigeria.

Thursdays ( Todays) parliament session had been

converned to discuss the presidents request to extend

the long 18 Month State of Emergency in 3 States in

the countrys Northeast region I.e Adamawa, Borno

and Yobe with reasons such as to sustain the pressure

against the terror Islamic  Boko Haram group of which

the reverse is the case to the lower opposition

members who claimed and described the presidents

request and tactics as a "Failure".

Notwithstanding, no vote was taken as the closure of

the Parliament was ordered by the senate President

due to unrest within the complex
