Christmas Vehicular Ban in NorthEast Nigeria

The state governments of Borno and Yobe in Nigeria has put restrictions on all forms of vehicular movements within their territory as a form of self protection against the deadly terror Boko Haram group.

Within this period, the military and other security agencies are to be on constant watch against any form of suspicious movement.

Yahoo news has it that the Spokesman Col. Sani Usman said they are acting on security reports that Boko Haram plans "massive attacks," especially in the state capital,Maiduguri.

These Northeast states are by record known to be vulnerable to attacks by the Boko Haram group especially during festive period like the Christmas, claiming up to 13000 lives since 2009

The security agencies and the state government
had therefore banned "all forms of vehicle movement" in Borno from 6:00 pm (1700 GMT)
Wednesday through to Sunday morning.

Also in a bid to prevent cases of attacks by the  deadly group, the Adamawa state government had also banned the use of Tricycle taxis popularly known as "Keke" as it has been a means used of recent by the Boko Haram group

Boko Haram recently controls several villages in the NorthEast state in a bid to establish their dream Islamic State
