Nigerian Government Declares Dec. 25th and 26th 2014 as Public Holidays


The Nigerian Government has today in Abuja declared 25th and 26th Dec 2014 as public holidays to mark the Christmas and Boxing Day celebration. This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Abubakar Magaji, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior.

In the same vein as reported by the Vanguard news, the Federal Government also declared January 1st 2015 as a public holiday to mark the dawn of a New Year as announced by the Minister of Interior, Mr Abba Moro, on behalf of the federal government.

While anmouncing the declarations considering the tensions on all sides of the country, the federal government enjoined Nigerians to celebrate with care
