Corps members in Taraba State undergoing one year compulsory service has planned to embark on a peaceful protest to both the House of the Assembly and the State government over none payments of monthly allowances.
These according to the corpers had been the trend in most States in Nigeria and corpers had been left to be dependent solely on the federal pulse for their upkeep.
The Guardian gathered that Taraba State youth Corp members were yet to be paid about 6 month accrued allowances which according to the Corps member is enough reason to protest for.
According to the lamenting Corps Members "Apart from the month's take home that comes from the Federal Government, the Taraba State government is doing nothing to assist us.
"Could you believe that for the past six months, our state allowance has not been paid to us? This was exactly how they did to our colleagues that recently passed out."(The Guardian)
Nonetheless, the leadership of the scheme in the State when reached explained that the outcry of the Corps members had earlier been brought to the notice of the State government though results were yet to be seen.
