Nigerian Government Lied,We Are Still on Air - Radio Biafra

Contrary to the report by the Nigerian Government on Tuesday In a statement by Dr Yemi Folasade-Esan of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Information said it had successfully jammed the transmission signals of Radio Biafra, which had been operating illegally from an unknown location.

According to her "We also gave a report on (Radio Biafra) that because right now the signals from Radio Biafra have been jammed. The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has successfully jammed that.

"The NBC is also working with security operatives to get those that are behind that radio because it is an illegal radio.

"It is not licensed by anybody to be on Nigeria's airwaves."

But in a swift response, on Its Twitter handler Radio Biafra wrote that the NBC lied.

"NBC lied to their master. Radio Biafra is live in BiafraLand. They cannot even ban our local station, do they even know we also transmit via satellite and online as well."

The station also wrote things that cannot be published.

The Biafran group according to them are agitating for a new Nigeria where the Igbos, the Yoruba, and the Hausa could exist as separate entities.

Further findings revealed that the station is still broadcasting as at 8:00pm on Tuesday in Port Harcourt
