President Buhari Fires to
Hire- Sacks And Appoints New Service Chiefs

Buhari yesterday sacked all the service chiefs and chief of defense staff he
inherited from the immediate past administration of Goodluck Jonathan excluding
the inspector general of police Mr. Solomon Arase
In a release by Mr. Femi Adesina,
the special adviser on media and publicity. Buhari expressed thankfulness to
the outgoing service chiefs and wished them well in all their future endeavors.

Adesola Mish (Chief of Air Staff)

In his remarks while
confirming the appointment of the new service chiefs, Mr. Buhari said their appointments
were based on “merit” and past good records and therefore charged the new
military chiefs to help him rebuild the reputation of the Armed Forces and the
nation.
Responding
to the reactions of the national assembly, president Buhari cleared the air
saying that the newly appointed service chiefs would for now be in acting
capacity until their appointments are confirmed by the national assembly
“Legally,
you are in acting capacity until the National Assembly accepts you,” the
President said.
“It
is only then that you will take the oath of office. Thereafter, we will sit
down and talk in more detail.”
