Nigerias President Buhari on Monday disclosed in a meeting attended by U.S. Congressmen, led by Representative Darrel Issa that his administration has discovered some financial institutions housing funds stolen by the country's past and present corrupt leaders.
While complete traces of evidences were on going, Mr. buhari through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, told the Congressmen that his administration would welcome more regular meetings of the Nigeria-United States Bi-National Commission.
The President also disclosed further efforts made at tracking the sale and exportation of the nations petrol produce as lots of corrupt acts were unfolded. The President said "Some monies were paid to individual accounts. We are identifying the financial institutions and countries that are involved.
According to him "We are getting cooperation from the international community, including information on ships that take crude oil from Nigeria and change direction, or pour their contents into other ships mid-stream.
Mr Buhari never mentioned prosecuting offenders till his facts and evidences are clearer before deciding further action. "I have been assured that when we get all our documents together, the United States and other countries will treat our case with sympathy," he said
