In an authoritative report by the PREMIUM TIMES, Nigeria's immediate Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, who served under the Good luck Jonathan administration was arrested Friday morning alongside four other people by the British law enforcement agency.
According to the PREMIUM TIMES, Alison M,, "adueke was arrested for offences related to bribery and corruption being investigated by the UK National Crime Agency.
The British High Commission in Nigeria also confirmed series of arrest were made today but refused disclosing the identities of those involved.
Public Affairs Officer, Joseph Abuku while confirming the incident said “This morning, five people between the ages of 21 and 60 were arrested on suspicion of bribery and corruption offences. The crimes are being investigated by the National Crime Agency."
In another report, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) same Friday ransacked the Asokoro home of Deziani Alison Madueke placing it under lock and key with EFCC 'Restrained' sticker hanging on the property's wall.
Currently doubts are that Dezianis arrest was based on Buhari's statement of September 27 when he hinted that those that had one way or the other misappropriated monies belonging to the Nigerian petroleum sector would soon face the wrath of the law though he never disclosed how and when he intends to start the probing.
It became obvious that the immediate Petroleum Minister involved in several deals just few days after the assumption of Buhari into office and since then Deziani Alison Madueke has been staying clear of Nigeria.
