The number of countries that has officially legalized same-sex marriage across the globe has risen to 18 with Alabama being the latest U.S. state to change its stance on gay marriage and start Inspite of the rise in Anti-gay protesters, the number seems to rise geometrically as more countries seem to join the clique while two others allow the union to take place in some jurisdictions. Nonetheless, it was discovered that more African countries were likely to join the risen number with South African being amongst the first 5 countries. As it stands, the following 18 countries have legalized same-sex marriage and two allow the union to take place in some jurisdictions.
